Integrated Stock Management System

E&O's second generation Integrated Stock Management System (ISMS) has undergone significant enhancements. With a new, easy¬to-use Windows interface and upgraded scanning hardware, the system has been developed in collaboration with various laboratories throughout the UK and provides a cost-effective stock management solution to both large and small laboratory environments.

Running as a stand-alone or over a network, with multiple user IDs, all the media requirements, including all non-E&O branded products, of diverse laboratory departments are easily issued and managed by the system, using either hand-held barcode scanners or the simple point-and-click navigation of the system software.

To help laboratory staff save valuable time, the system displays offer users either simple at-a-glance stock summaries or specific filters to help organise stock data by supplier, product code, batch, expiry date or location. Future order requirements are indicated in a number of ways and any stock movement transactions, such as receiving new stock or issuing existing stock items from pre-designated storage locations can be input either by barcode scanners or via the system keyboard. The built-in barcoding options enable all laboratory or department supplies, including products, powders and supplements from media suppliers other than E&O, to be determined and managed electronically.

All stock movements, such as receipts, issues, adjustments, returns and stock checks are held in the system indefinitely, providing detailed histories of all stock and stock-related transactions. Supplemental information, such as comments and advice notes can be applied to a distinguish stock items for specialised project work from routine sampling and where required, the transaction histories can be also utilised to identify seasonal or product-specific usage trends, as well as to monitor product wastage.

The E&O software also provides by a suite of easy-to-use, informative reporting functions. Standard reports include:
