The Role

This position is very varied and includes the maintenance of both building fabric and services, plus all manufacturing equipment e.g. external and internal finishes, fixtures and fittings, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical services, pressurised steam piping/systems and pneumatics. You will require excellent fault finding and maintenance skills to ensure the safe and continuous operation of all mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • To assist with planned and preventative maintenance
  • Resolve machine breakdowns to ensure maximum line efficiency of the production process
  • To ensure all working equipment meets the health and safety and GMP standards

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Formal engineering qualification to at least City and Guilds, ONC/HNC level equivalent
  • At least two year’s experience in a fast moving manufacturing industry sector
  • A sound knowledge and work experience of the maintenance of a variety of processing equipment
  • The ability to use electrical test equipment, experience in single phase and 3 phase installations including motors, inverters and PLC’s

  • A team player with strong sense of personal responsibility/ownership and positive “can do” attitude
  • Have the ability to work effectively within a factory environment and perform under pressure
  • Complete all engineering work to high quality, safety and required GMP standard
  • Will be able to cover day shift working but be flexible with working hours during breakdowns and new installations

Background & Report to: 

The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of three engineers and will report to the Engineering Manager. The manufacturing operation covers two locations 7 miles apart.
