We are currently seeking to recruit for the position of Logistics coordinator at our Westfield site in Cumbernauld with an immediate start.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all orders are despatched in a timely and efficient manner to meet our customers’ demands and expectations.

You should have excellent IT skills, with the ability to learn quickly and multi-task.
The successful candidate should be self-motivated and extremely well organized.
You should have the ability to communicate with staff at all levels along with a high level of attention to detail which is essential.

Purpose of the Role

To ensure a constant, smooth, and efficient despatch Operation whilst achieving operational output.

Works effectively and efficiently in a despatch and warehouse environment.
You will be liaising directly with the warehouse supervisor, Logistics Manager, external freight carriers and couriers to ensure that all shipments as per the daily shipping schedule are processed and despatched in a timely manner.
You will create accurate and detailed shipping documentation, working closely with the order processing and Warehouse teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience and Understanding of Export and Import Procedures for the EU and the ROW
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of IT and ERP applications, competent user with all Microsoft applications, Excel, Word, Outlook and Access
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of the team and on own initiative.
  • Self-Motivated
  • Decision making and the ability to prioritise
  • Previous experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, Export and Import documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, communicate and coordinate daily and weekly shipments with external carriers and couriers to meet customers’ demands and expectations, identify any problems which occur and react and communicate accordingly.
  • To contribute towards the improvement of processes, methods of operating and practices using a structured process.
  • Complete weekly/monthly statistical reports as required by your manager.
  • Attend any relevant training sessions to ensure you are fully equipped to perform your duties effectively and attend meetings as required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Logistics Manager.

 Key Duties:

  • The booking of UK mainland, EU + ROW shipments, using embedded carrier software applications.
  • Streamline shipping and transportation processes to keep shipping costs down for both the business and our customers.
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones updating customer records and providing excellent customer service.
  • Problem solve for customers both internal and external about shipping routes, delayed consignments, and urgent orders.
  • Coordinate and prepare consignments for shipping.
  • Manage stock levels for shipping consumables and re-order as required.
  • Review and compare shipping costs where possible to drive cost saving exercises.
  • Communicating and contributing data to the logistics Manager to support department and Company KPI’s.
  • Communicate with Managers, supervisors, Team Members, and staff in other departments on matters relevant to Despatch operations to ensure On Time Delivery measures.
  • Promote safe working environments through good housekeeping.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

Hours of work – Monday to Thursday 09:00-17:30 Friday 08:00-16:30 40 hours per week

Experience: Warehouse Logistics Administration experience is essential
